Slow Worms

We found this juvenile slow worm, Anguis fragilis on the driveway.  They are great in the garden because they eat slugs and snails.  They are in fact legless lizards and can be distinguished from snakes as they have eyelids and ear openings.  We released this little fellow in the back garden, I know there will be plenty for him to eat!!

A Happy Release …
